_02Phonetic challenges

When a song is written in a language with non-Latin characters (for example: Arabic or Farsi), the text will be written by pronunciation; the phonetic notation.

Many songs that we find on the internet have an English way of phonetic notation/transcription. The words are expected to be spoken in an English way, so when your church is not from an English speaking background, you will have to take this into consideration. You have to ask yourselves; ‘Does my church understand the English notation or do I need to make a different transcription according to my own language?’

Information about transcription/transliterating can be found on the internet.
